The Caravan overnighted in the little town of Cape Girardeau Missouri on the way to Memphis.
During our tour of Memphis, we heard about Mary, the ghost of the Orpheum. This was confirmed by Wyatt and Jess, our nephew and his fiancé who performed with the Memphis ballet. If you ever attend a performance in the Orpheum, see if you can identify the seat they reserve for Mary the Ghost.
It was a bit of a whirlwind tour. We went to Beale Street (center of blues) St Judes, B.B. Kings restaurant, Sun Studios (who first signed Elvis), the Bass Pro pyramid, The Peabody Hotel – to watch the march of the ducks, the Lorraine Hotel (Site of the MLK assassination and the Rock and Soul Museum.
On our own, we took Ginger on a long walk onto Mud Island and the Mississippi River walk.
