Emigrant Gap to Loa, Utah – 670 Miles

We left Snowflower at Emigrant Gap and headed east on I-80, then US-50 to Ely Nevada, where we spent the night at a BLM campground just outside of Ely. The next day, after filing the police report (see the Hatchet Maniac post), we headed to Loa Utah.

We had been in Loa before, having been towed in after running over a junk driveshaft in the middle of the road, and thought it looked neat.

Loa is right next to Capitol Reef State Park – a very spectacular and under appreciated National Park, among the plethora of National Parks in this part of Utah. We spent several days exploring, hiking and sightseeing in Capitol Reef and the surround area.

Claires facebook post https://www.facebook.com/claire.pendleton.5 describes it better than I can.

We still haven’t fixed the door – other than some duct tape. I think that will have to wait until we can find an appropriate cover or an Amazon pickup counter where we found a cover – just can’t get it delivered.

We’re staying in Loa about 6 days and then it is off to Gunnison Colorado.
