Caravan Days 24-25 277 Miles Vicksburg Mississippi

Vicksburg
Vicksburg

We fled from the Memphis KOA (in Arkansas) with its swarms of huge black mosquitos on one of our longest single days drive, thru the 100 degree heat, to the town of Vicksburg.

In Vicksburg, due to our dog walker cancelling at the last minute and power issues at the RV park we skipped the morning part of the tour and stayed with Ginger and monitored the power conditions of the other rigs in the park. There were concerns power could be lost again causing the pets left in the RVs distress.

We had the morning watch and another set of Caravanners had the afternoon watch. So we missed the tour of the Vicksburg Military park and the tour of the Ironclad Cairo. We did get to tour the SS Mississippi, a tow boat on display at the Army Corp of Engineers museum.
