From Hershey it was time to proceed to the Winnebago Factory in Forest City Iowa.
Both readers of this blog will remember our run in the hatchet guy in Ely Nevada. The trip the the mothership in Forest City is primarily to get that damage repaired. We also asked Winnebago to replace one of the heatpumps on the rig. Winnebago can get things out of Coleman-Mach that normal human beings can’t.
And Winnebago Factory Service simply can’t be beat.
So 1,100 miles later in a solo run (Claire is off in California attending to family matters) I pulled into the Winnebago Factory Service center and handed baby over to their tender mercies.
Normally when you are in for Factory Service, they will give you your rig back every day about 3pm. This is because they realize that most people are living in their rigs in Forest City. But our unit needs to go to the off-site paint shop and they told me it would be better if I stayed out of it for a day or two, while the did their magic.
They did not fail and the door is a good as or better than new.
