/From College Station, the next destination was Galveston. This meant we had to drive through the Houston Metro area, which was …interesting. They have got some really bad drivers in Texas.
On the way down, since Claire wa away and Ginger is not a very good Navigator, we got off course and went vis the GPS selected route on the Interstate. The Fantasy route avoided the Interstatel but was the talk of the Caravan for the number of stop lights encountered.
Jerry got to the Galveston campground ahead of the pack, and 1/2 hour before he was supposed to pick up Claire at Houston-Hobby airport. Unfortunately, the campground has a hard 2pm check in rule and would not even permit Jerry to park the RV there while he returned to Houston. He ended up driving the RV back part of the way to Houston, leaving it at a Walmart and then heading in the tow car to the airport. Due to low clearances, there was no way the RV would fit in the airport.
Jerry picked up Claire and we got to the campground just ahead of the tailgunner.
